Where Trint is the better choice
- A lot of recording, one price. Pro and Team: "Unlimited" transcription under a fair-use cap that excludes archival projects and bulk volume. Free: a 7-day trial on 3 files; a help article written for an older plan says only the first 5 minutes of each is transcribed. Sources 1, 2 Our Pro plan has a monthly allowance.
- Signing off a transcript. The text darkens as each word is spoken and clicking jumps the audio there; a tracker lets you mark each paragraph as verified. Sources 1, 2 txscribe has nothing that records what you have already checked.
- Recurring speakers. Automatic speaker detection on every plan, chosen at upload; for all users, speakers you name can be recognised in later files by voiceprint, in English, French and German. Sources 1, 2, 3, 4 We give you numbers and make renaming fast.
- Live and on the phone. Mobile apps for iOS and Android and live transcription: one hour a month on Pro, one hour per seat a month on Team. Sources 1, 2 txscribe can show live captions while you record in the browser, but the transcript you edit comes afterwards.
- Newsroom teams and security. Team is for 2 to 5 people, with shared drives. Source Its compliance page says it is ISO 27001:2022 certified. Sources 1, 2 txscribe is one person's account, with no ISO 27001 or SOC 2 certification.
What txscribe doesn't do well
- Speaker labels work in 14 of our 110 language variants. In the rest the transcript has no speaker labels, and there are no speakers to rename.
- A recording that switches language partway may come back translated rather than transcribed — or not at all — and nothing marks it as missing. Name the main language instead of leaving it on automatic.
- Summaries do not point back to the moment each line came from. Answers to questions do.
