We do not use your recordings or transcripts to train models.
Notta
Its Terms license your data "only as reasonably necessary" to provide, maintain and update the service, to prevent or address service, security, support or technical issues, as required by law, or as you expressly permit in writing; its privacy policy says it may use information to improve the service and makes no general statement about training, and its help centre lists "No data training" among the Enterprise plan's security features. On Pro and above, its desktop app's Privacy Mode transcribes on your own computer, imported files included, and that content is not used for AI model training. Sources 1, 2, 3, 4
Where Notta is the better choice
- Meetings, live and on the phone. A meeting bot for Zoom, Teams, Meet and Webex, live transcription, mobile apps and a Chrome extension, on every plan. Sources 1, 2, 3, 4 txscribe has no meeting bot; it can show live captions while you record in the browser, but the transcript you edit comes afterwards.
- Price. Pro $13.49 a month or $97.99 a year; Business $27.99 per seat a month or $199.99 per seat a year. Enterprise is custom, from 51 seats. Sources 1, 2 At regular prices, Notta Pro costs less than txscribe Pro, billed monthly or yearly, for the same hours a month — not counting txscribe's discounted first month.
- Two languages in one recording. 58 languages; bilingual transcription pairs any two of 23 languages, with a few free uses a month and more as a paid add-on on Pro and above. Sources 1, 2, 3 In txscribe, speech in a second language may come back translated instead of transcribed, or not at all.
- PDF, spreadsheet and audio exports. Downloads on Pro and above: TXT, DOCX, SRT, PDF and XLSX, and the recording as MP3, WAV or MP4. Free can copy the text. Sources 1, 2, 3 We export TXT, DOCX, SRT and VTT.
- Transcribing on your own computer. On Pro and above, its desktop app's Privacy Mode transcribes recordings and imported files on your own computer, without sending them to its cloud — in a limited set of languages, with cloud features paused. Source txscribe transcribes in the cloud.
- A security report to hand over. Its security page says SOC 2 Type II, obtained through an independent audit; its pricing table offers the certification reports on Business and Enterprise. Sources 1, 2 We have no SOC 2 report.
What txscribe doesn't do well
- Speaker labels work in 14 of our 110 language variants. In the rest the transcript has no speaker labels, and there are no speakers to rename.
- A recording that switches language partway may come back translated rather than transcribed — or not at all — and nothing marks it as missing. Name the main language instead of leaving it on automatic.
- Summaries do not point back to the moment each line came from. Answers to questions do.
