# txscribe

> txscribe turns audio and video into text in the browser: upload a file, record, or paste a link to a video, and get a transcript with timestamps, to edit, summarize, translate, ask questions about and export as TXT, SRT, VTT and Word (DOCX).

## What it does

- Transcribes speech in 82 languages; the language can be chosen or detected automatically.
- Offers speaker labels (Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on) in every language. In 96 of the 110 language variants they come from a separate pass, only on recordings of up to 2 hours, and a pass that fails leaves the transcript without them; the transcript then says so.
- Takes links from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, Vimeo, Loom and Dropbox. From a video site's link you get the transcript, not the video: txscribe does not offer a download of the video or its audio.
- YouTube links, signed in: when YouTube's own automatic recognition confirms the language of the video's audio, and that is the language you chose (or you left the language on automatic detection), txscribe uses YouTube's captions in that language: no minutes used, no speaker labels, up to 50 videos a day, within the plan's length per file. Otherwise it transcribes the audio, which uses minutes. You can choose the audio instead. Translated captions are never used.
- Without an account: one recording, up to 10 minutes of it; you see the start of the transcript free, and the file and the transcript are deleted after 48 hours, or 7 days after payment if you buy that transcript on its own.
- In an account, recordings and transcripts are kept until you delete them. Recordings and transcripts are not used to train models.
- Every automatic transcript has errors, mostly in names, numbers and technical terms: check a passage against the recording before quoting it.

- Free: every feature (summaries, translation, questions, sharing, every export format), files up to 60 minutes; the minutes a new free account comes with are shown on the pricing page.
- Pro: US$24.99 a month, or US$12.49 a month billed yearly; 30 hours of transcription a month; files up to 8 hours. Introductory offers change; the pricing page shows the current ones.
